Group A did a full week hike(Sunday-Friday) starting at the Galehead River Trail, staying at Galehead hut, Zealand Falls Hut, Mizpah Hut, Lake of the Clouds Hut, and Madison Springs Hut, covering around 40 miles and summiting 12 peaks.
Group B started the week with some activities including a zip line course and kayaking before taking the Cog Railway to the summit of Mt. Washington and hiking to Mizpah Hut, spending the night at Lake of the Clouds Hut in between.
You must sign up by October 22. All three of the following must be done and turned in by that date.
Backpacking Batona Trail - Pine Barrens NJ
Friday Night 9pm - Meet @ at Roychester Community House, Backpack shakedown and packing.
Saturday am. - Meet at RCH at 7:45a / Depart 8:00a, Drive to NJ / Backpack Batona Trail, camp overnight at Pine Hill SR. - Cabin. Sunday - return back to RCH approx 12 noon.
Scouts will take the train to Philadelphia and have the option of either Rock Climbing at Go Vertical Rock Gym, or tour the new American Revolution Museum.
Skiing Trip - Skiing at Jack Frost/Big Boulder and Camping at Camp Achela, PA
The September camping trip will be canoeing on the Sassafras River on the Eastern Shore MD. We will be camping near the take-out point of the river on the grounds of the NRMA (National Resource Management Area- which is managed by the MD Park Service) at a primitive youth group site.
H/A Biking 3 1/2 days biking, 1/2 day kayaking, Sailing 3 days, Wednesday activities cancelled due to weather
Wilderness Survival merit badge, 6 program areas - First Aid, Signalling, Food/Water, Fire starting, snare/trapping, shelter building (natural materials).
Drove 12 miles north to Bushkill access on PA side of Delaware river. 16 canoes 32 people. 3 teams of 5 canoes. Took about 4 hrs. Camped in field - nice big sites. No wood for campfire. Bathrooms with hot water.
Camping two nights at Rocky Neck State Park. 23d and 24th. Sailing on the Mystic Whaler from the 25th through the 29th. Camping the evening of the 29th and returning home on the 30th.
